Cebitepal proposes two Update Diplomas in Theology with a path that each student builds in a personalized way

The Update Diplomas in Synodal Pastoral Theology and Systematic Theology from Cebitepal propose a flexible way to navigate the training: each quarter, students choose between two courses and progressively build a path that culminates in a final project and the certification of the diploma.

From the Theological Center of CELAM, a training proposal is presented through two update diplomas in which participants can choose between two available courses each quarter, according to their training interests. Thus, the path is not completely defined from day one, but is built as the academic year progresses.

The proposal is part of the training offer of Cebitepal, an institution that articulates its work around training, research, reflection, and theological-pastoral publication. Its current offer bets on diverse training paths and on training in the service of a synodal and missionary Church.

A path that is built quarter by quarter

The model is simple in its structure, but different from the usual idea of a diploma. Each quarter, CEBITEPAL offers two courses and the student selects one. Each course includes 20 hours of synchronous classes and an additional session dedicated to the "Conversation in the Spirit." Registration and payment are done individually.

Upon completing each course, a certificate of participation is obtained. To complete the diploma path, three courses must be taken, equivalent to 60 hours of synchronous classes and six hours of "Conversation in the Spirit." After that, the student can request the academic certification, for which they must submit and pass a final essay that articulates the studied content.

The difference lies, precisely, in the possibility of choice. The student can combine courses from the three trimesters according to their interests within the corresponding field, instead of necessarily following an identical package to that of all other participants. The structure allows for the same diploma to have different paths, although all lead to the same certification process.

This way you can start your diploma in this second trimester

The Diploma in Updates on Synodal Pastoral Theology focuses on issues related to the life and pastoral action of a Church that seeks to deepen its synodal experience. Its offerings include topics such as youth ministry, pastoral leadership, ecclesial communities, catechist ministry, governance, diocesan administration, and digital pastoral.

The courses available for this trimester in this path are «Social, theological, and pastoral keys to rethink the parish» and «Instituted ministries in a synodal Church».

In the Diploma in Updating on Systematic Theology, the journey moves towards the major fields of theological reflection: among them, trinitarian theology, christology, ecclesiology, theological anthropology, theological method, mariology, and eschatology. The proposal seeks to update this knowledge and put it in dialogue with contemporary challenges.

In this quarter, the systematic route offers «Life, before and after death. Issues of Eschatology» and «The method see-judge-act. From Catholic Action to Latin American Theology».
