The Latin American and Caribbean Episcopal Council (Celam) and the Organization of Catholic Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (Oducal) are ready to receive research projects on poverty from this September 1st until October 15, 2026.

This is the second call that both continental entities make to select 10 projects from multidisciplinary research centers and teams from Catholic universities affiliated with Oducal, which address poverty as a cross-cutting theme.

The objective is to study realities of vulnerability and exclusion on the continent, therefore, this call is based on the theme: Surviving in poverty: life experiences and solidarity of the impoverished, vulnerable, and excluded,

How to participate?

It was explained that there will be an online form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd_WaGVY5952So-SGRqL6xRLqNP-K8Oec1tvT6TyKpNjUe4XQ/viewform that will be available from September 1st at 00:01 until October 15, 2026 at 23:59, Colombia time.

“Four files are submitted: the proposal, without letterhead or design to guarantee anonymity; the members of the multidisciplinary team, with the theological dimension incorporated; the CV of the responsible researcher; and the endorsement letter from the highest research authority of the university,” it indicated.

Ten projects will be selected —eight with a maximum incentive of US$ 6,000 and two of US$ 7,000—, distributed among the four regions of Celam: Central America and Mexico, Caribbean, Andean, and Southern Cone.

The results will be communicated on November 15, 2026, and the research will begin on December 7, with an execution period of eight months.
