The Organization of Seminaries and Institutes of Brazil (OSIB) celebrated the National Meeting of Seminar Trainers, a space that brought together those responsible for the formation of future priests from different regions of the country.
It took place from July 27 to 31 in Belo Horizonte (MG) under the theme "Priestly formation in the context of digital culture: challenges, possibilities, and implications for the exercise of the priestly ministry."
This meeting aimed to promote reflection on the impact of new technologies on vocational discernment, the lives of seminarians, and the exercise of the priestly ministry.
The event was held at the Casa Mãe Acolhedora and brought together rectors, seminar trainers, directors, and coordinators of Philosophy and Theology institutes from different regions of Brazil.

Reflections on AI
In this edition, the program proposed a reflection on the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence on the formation of seminarians, on vocational discernment, and on the exercise of the presbyteral ministry.
Según el presidente nacional de la OSIB, el P. Vagner João Pacheco de Moraes, esta reflexión es necesaria ante la creciente presencia de las tecnologías en la vida de quienes se preparan para el ministerio.
El programa incluye ponencias, conferencias y espacios de reflexión sobre inteligencia artificial, cultura digital, protección en el entorno digital, las Directrices Generales de la Acción Evangelizadora de la Iglesia en Brasil (2026-2032), el Informe de Síntesis del Sínodo, el Documento de Estudios n.º 82 de la CNBB y la formación presbiteral en una Iglesia sinodal y misionera.
Paralelamente a las actividades formativas, se celebrará la Asamblea General de la OSIB, de carácter electivo, en la que se elegirá la nueva presidencia nacional para el próximo cuatrienio.
