The IV Synodal Meeting “Fratelli Tutti”: North-South socio-environmental dialogue will be presented this Friday, September 11, during a press conference in the Press Room of the Holy See, in Rome. The event will take place at 1:00 PM and will include the participation of representatives from the Catholic Church, labor organizations, and the International Labor Organization.

The synodal meeting will take place from September 10 to 12, 2026 at the General House of La Salle, in Rome, and aims to foster a space for dialogue between actors from the North and the South on social and environmental issues. The conference will provide insight into the main themes of this fourth edition and the perspectives of those participating in it.

The presentation will feature the presence of Cardinal Jaime Spengler, president of the Latin American Episcopal Council (Celam); Liz Schuler, President of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO); Monsignor Daniel Flores, Vice President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB); and the Cardinal Leonardo Steiner, President of the Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (Ceama).

Representatives of the Church, the labor world, and the ILO

Will also intervene Gerardo Martínez, full member of the Board of Directors of the International Labour Organization (ILO) representing the workers, and Monsignor Reginald Andrietta, Coordinator of the Organized Labor Network of Celam.

The participation of these representatives reflects the interdisciplinary character of the meeting, which brings together ecclesial and labor world perspectives to address social and environmental challenges through dialogue between different realities.

The press conference will take place in the Press Room of the Holy See, Via della Conciliazione 54, and will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of Vatican News. The Press Office of the Holy See reported that the broadcast will be available in the original language and will also have simultaneous translation channels.
